Indications:
Any nasal problems presenting with nasal obstruction, copious amounts of clear or white watery nasal discharge, or thick yellow or green nasal discharge, sinus pain, headache, dizziness, sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, heat and redness around the sinus cavities, earache or congestion, cough and wheezing. Especially effective for nasal or lung problems with an allergic component.
Biomedical Applications:
allergic rhinitis, acute and chronic rhinitis, perennial rhinitis, acute and chronic sinusitis, sinus headaches, frontal headaches, allergic asthma, common cold, influenza
Standard Dosage:
2-3 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage:
Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In acute or severe disorders, dosage may be increased to 3-5 tablets every 2-4 hours, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be administered for medium-term use for a few weeks to a few months. If administered alone for acute symptoms, it is usually taken up to a couple weeks. It is often administered along with a constitutional formula for a few months to treat chronic nasal problems or allergies.
Ingredients:
Magnolia denudata flower, Xanthium sibiricum fruit, Isatis indigotica root, Agastache rugosa herb, Chrysanthemum morifolium flower, Ledebouriella divaricata root, Centepida minima herb, Mentha haplocalyx herb, Perilla frutescens leaf. - Xin yi hua, Cang er zi, Ban lan gen, Huo xiang, Ju hua, Fang feng, E bu shi cao, Bo he, Zi su ye.
Cautions & Contraindications:
Use with caution during pregnancy. Use with caution in Yin deficiency. Cang er zi/xanthium is very drying, and excess use may result in dry mucus membranes. Cang er zi/xanthium is also slightly toxic and may occasionally cause a headache or mild nausea. Use with caution in breast-feeding women as Bo he/mint may reduce the production of breast milk in some cases. Use with caution in hemorrhagic disorders or with patients on anti-coagulant therapy.
