Use this formula when main symptoms during stress are related to a feeling of something "stuck" in your throat. In TCM terms this is called "plum pit",and is caused by stress.Also helpful in esophogeal problems such as reflux,spasms of the esophogus,and trouble swallowing.

Indications:
presenting with a sensation of something being caught in the throat, throat clearing, difficulty swallowing, chest oppression, inability to breathe deeply, frequent sighing, all symptoms are initiated or aggravated by stress or emotional upset, possibly accompanied by cough with white phlegm, bloating, nausea, vomiting.

dysphagia, globus hystericus, neurosis, hysteria, anxiety disorders, assertiveness issues, functional gastrointestinal disorders, gastroesophageal reflux disease, esophageal spasms, tracheitis, chronic laryngitis, chronic pharyngitis, chronic bronchitis, asthma, emphysema

Standard Dosage:
9-10 (4.5 - 5 teaspoons) grams per day.

Clinical Dosage:
Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In acute or severe disorders, dosage may be increased by 50%, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be administered for short to medium-term use for a few weeks to a month. Once the acute symptoms of this condition are resolved, this formula should be discontinued, or combined with an appropriate constitutional formula.

Ingredients:
Poria cocos fungus, Pinellia ternata rhizome-gingered, Magnolia officinalis bark, Zingiber officinale rhizome-fresh, Perilla frutescens leaf. - Fu ling, Jiang ban xia, Hou po, Sheng jiang, Zi su ye.
